Over time your vehicle accumulates numerous particles that can damage the finish of your paintwork. Contamination like rain, sun, tree sap, bugs, tar, oxidisation, brake dust, industrial fallout and many more are extremely harmful to the paint finish. Paint correction removes all contamination from the surface, and after wax application leaves microscopic layers of wax/sealant to provide a long lasting deep shine that protects your paint. Paint correction is not just a luxury but an investment, and Prestige Valeting intends to keep it that way.
What is paint correction?
Paint correction, sometimes known a machine polishing is a systematic application of varying grades of compound and polish to achieve unbelievable results.
Using the latest equipment and specialist products (many imported), Prestige Valeting will remove all types of contamination either by machine polishing or wetsanding, regardless of age or condition. NOT just masking them with products containing fillers.
Each time you wash your car you will cause micro marks in your paintwork and over time these marks will gradually get worse and appear as swirls. Most of these swirl marks are caused by poor washing techniques or an automatic car wash, even using a sponge to wash your car plays a big part in causing marks on the surface of paintwork. These marks on the surface are actually diffracting the light so you are not seeing the true colour of your paint.
No two vehicles will have the same sort of paint, every manufacturer, model and even colour will be different. So having a good knowledge of paint and products is essential. At Prestige Valeting we pride ourselves with extensive knowledge in these very important areas.
Machine polishing will remove all swirl marks, light scratches, bird stains, water marks, buffer marks and more to restore your paintwork to an “as new condition”. This process can also restore dull or faded paintwork back to its original state.
Sometimes the only way to remove those deeper scratches, light scuff marks or to obtain the ultimate finish is wet sanding
Wetsanding will remove or considerably reduce the appearance of those really deep scratches, by sanding the affected the area and buffing will soften the edges making it far less visible, often saving the cost of having a large area re-painted.
During the process of wetsanding you are actually removing a 'minute' layer of clear coat from the paint surface to make it level, improving the quality of the finish. This process can be used on the entire vehicle (as seen in the picture of Ford F150) to get results which are staggering (especially on darker colours), the quality of your paintwork will actually be better than the day it rolled off the production line.
With over 15 years of paint experience and understanding the different types of paint used on new and old cars. Prestige Valeting is able to assess the existing condition of your vehicles paint, and then evaluate any problems which may occur before the correction work begins. All our work is finished with tried and tested methods.
